Ararimu Bait & Trap Day
Sunday, February 27th, 10am – 1pm
Ararimu Hall, corner of Ararimu Road and Steel Road
The purpose of the Bait and Trap Day programme is to resource and support landowners in the Wairoa River catchment to undertake pest animal control on their properties. This is in line with the Predator Free 2050 goal, and targets similar species. The Wairoa River catchment includes Ararimu, Paparimu, Hunua, Clevedon, Ardmore and Ness Valley.
Pest experts will be on hand to advise people on the best control methods for the pest animal species they want to target on their properties. Free traps and bait will be available. In return participating landowners will need to register their property details and agree to provide regular updates to FOTW on the success of their pest control.
This will be a ‘drop in’ event, anytime between 10am and 1pm at the Ararimu Hall.
We will also be available to talk about other aspects of what Friends of Te Wairoa do, such as assistance with revegetation planning and the community nursery.
To reduce foot traffic and crowding, we ask that you consider picking up gear for your neighbours too – just bring a piece of paper that includes their name, address and a contact email in legible handwriting.
Please bring your mask and vaccine passes with you. If you do not have a vaccine pass we can arrange a contactless pick up option – please email pestcontrol@tewairoa.org.nz.
