OK Pest Free Bait & Trap Day at Kawakawa Bay Market – This Saturday
You are invited to our next Bait & Trap Day!
Kawakawa Bay Bait & Trap Day
We’re back in Kawakawa Bay on Saturday 7 March at the
Kawakawa Bay Market from 9am–12pm.
We’ll be onsite with materials, practical support, and friendly advice — whether you’re just getting started or continuing your predator control journey.
About Te Ara Hīkoi | Predator Free Franklin
At Te Ara Hīkoi | Predator Free Franklin, we love helping people take action to protect our native wildlife.
Our goal is simple: working together towards a predator-free Aotearoa so our native birds can survive and thrive.
This mahi is only possible through community collaboration — every trap set, every bait line checked, and every conversation helps move us forward.
How We Can Help You
- Advice and guidance tailored to your property
- Access to traps, bait, and monitoring materials
- Help troubleshooting challenges or building confidence
- Ongoing encouragement and connection with local efforts
How You Can Help Us
- Set and maintain traps on your property
- Encourage neighbours to get involved
- Return unused materials so others can benefit
- Donate new or second-hand predator control equipment
- Contribute financially if you are able
If you’ve taken home bait or a trap you’re no longer using, please return it — no questions asked.
These resources are far more valuable in the field than gathering cobwebs in a shed.
Supporting the Work
Our funding comes from a range of grants applied for annually by a small, dedicated team.
We are especially grateful for the ongoing support of the Franklin Local Board.
As demand grows, donations help us bridge funding gaps and continue supporting those who may not otherwise
be able to afford predator control resources.

Thank You
Thank you for your ongoing support. Your involvement — big or small — is what keeps the momentum growing
and helps protect our native species for future generations.
We look forward to seeing you in Kawakawa Bay!
