Otaua had a running start with recent Bovine TB eradication taking the possums numbers to a very low level. It’s a perfect time for landowners to get active and make use of the existing installations left through out the Otaua bush blocks.

The main hive of activity in Otaua is in the form of the infamous Otaua Rat Rangers, a sub group of the Otaua Schools Nature Warriors.

Already have traps and bait stations?

We would love it if you could map them on Trap.NZ, and even better, keep records of what you catch. Don’t worry, the exact locations are kept private, it just lets us know roughly where action is happening in the area.
