Mixing it up again – This week’s planting is in Patumahoe, behind Patumahoe School at the back of North East Fields.

This is a family event. Parents and children from the school will be joining us after school assembly at 2.25pm. We will be planting puriri, rewarewa, taraire and other natives as an understory to the mainly non native trees here at present. They will be quite at home under the shelter of the big trees, and will soon grow up and through them to provide year-round interest and bird food. We will also be doing a bit of weed control on site for all you confirmed weed-bashers who like to get stuck in.

Please bring a spade and solid footwear that’s non-slip and suitable for digging.
